Midnight Margaritas & a quick Update!

It's that time of the month. A Full Moon. What happens with a full moon you ask? MIDNIGHT MARGARITAS Baby!! We have kicked off our soon to be annual MM party in the new place!  We FINALLY made the Big Move happen this year and we have been super busy. We are mostly settled into the new place now so this was a nice beginning party to have. For the recipes for out Midnight Margaritas check out the link.

Brrrr it's the first of February and it is SO cold! It's snowing like crazy here and that means it is the perfect afternoon to be making candles!! I made a few a couple of days ago and am using the rest of my wax up today.

Moving through the madness

Finished adding Imbolc to my Book. Some great info, recipes and crafts that I can not wait to try out for next week! Most I have already done before, but some new ones that I will be adding to the House will be going into the recipes section. I can not believe how much my spirits towards of Imbolc have changed since last year and creating my Book and adding Imbolc into it has helped immensely! It is so nice to have something to look forward too so soon after Yule. 

On that note though, I've been having a pretty shitty week dealing with some stress... so what does a witch do? .... She casts a spell on you (no not on you, but it rhymes and sounds good!) She casts a spell and put some shit into motion ;) Check out: the Spell-a-Day for how to deal with stress and move forward. 

I've been busy making masks this week, watching the new Charmed with the witch down the street and trying to get out of this funk I've got myself into.

On this calm Saturday I added a little bit to my site. There is a fun new section to the right called Spell-a-Week. There I will be posting some smalls spells that you can try out on your own at anytime. Two are already posted Road Opening and Supportive Fertility

I've also added Sun Energy to my Extra Lore section. READ it!! I love it so much. It will help so much with understanding your own energy levels throughout the day.

Almost finished with my Imbolc borders! I've got a super busy week coming up. I've got to get onto my second set of movie masks to create for my Movie Collection for my show in May. Each week I create four more masks for the collection ( a total of around 38!!) If you wanted to check out what I am talking about check out my artist site The Imaginarium. I explain it more on there ;) Plus I am trying to finish Imbolc in my Book this week as well!

Out of the Darkness and into the Light

Hello fellow Witches!!

I've been busy working on my Book and have a few updates for you!! I hope that some of you (well ALL of you!) have seen my craft on creating your own Book of Shadows and now have your very own Book. I wanted to start mine with the Sabbats, but I did not want to skip ahead and just fill in the book, I wanted to fill in the pages while experiencing the Sabbats! So with Samhain and Yule both over, here are two video clips of the pages from my Book. Hopefully this gives you some great ideas!

Each section has info on the Sabbat itself, the correspondences for each Sabbat, a deity that I have chosen to work with, extra lore about the Sabbat, divination for that specific time of year, crafts, recipes and a page of something special (For Samhain it was a page on ghosts, for Yule it was a page on Between the Years magic).

I am currently working on the borders for Imbolc, which I am rather excited about. Normally I am not an imbolc fan (it WAS my least favorite Sabbat), but I am embracing it this year!! I have been gathering a lot of information for my sabbats not only though my own experiences, but also through some books: Llewellyn's Yule, Samhain & Imbolc, Starhawks Circle Round and some fabulous books from Ami McKay, Alice Hoffman and Sarah Addison Allen.

This past Dark Moon I made another batch of Black Salt for our local Ghost Hunter. I made up a huge batch of it so that he will hopefully not need anymore until the summer months (it's a little nippy out there at midnight even in front of a roaring fire)

My daughter is showing huge amounts of interest in all things witchery, so I am coming up with ways to include her in my workings and teach her that we are not hollywood witches. I am sure my boys are interested too but are not as vocal as she is lol, but I will be finding ways on teaching them as well. I know Circle Round has some great ideas on how to include everyone, but I need to come up with ways that are more from my beliefs. Ways in which make sense to me. Everything I do has a base of not only the earth, the sun and the universe involved, but of my very essence as well.

I've just ordered Llewellyn's Daily Book of Spells for 2019, I wish I had ordered it earlier, but it should be here by Friday! I am looking for some other new reads for spelling, so if you've got some favs let me know.

January's Full Moon is coming up. The Wolf Moon. I have a great page for her with lots of info on the Wolf Moon and on things to do for her. So try to check that out.

Stormy Nights and Carnival Magic

The Fair came to town and with its bright lights & colors, carnival music and squeals of delight came the cleansing rain. It was very fitting. We were so excited to be able to go, but we had forgotten what the magic of the Carnival hid. High prices, rude teenages, cheap prizes and long lines. So although we had a wonderful time in the beginning, once the rain hit and cleared our vision the illusion faded and reality appeared. This is magic with a C. 

Whenever you see the word magick written with a K you can rest assured that it means real magick. That there is spiritual focus in their workings. When you see the word magic written with a C it is magic created from an illusion. Or in the words of Llewellyn "Magic is an attempt to imitate Magick, by artificial means, as part of entertainment." Check this link out for a great little article on Magic vs Magick. 

It is Sunday morning and I have just enjoyed an entire hour of solitude while my little munsters lie tucked away in their beds still in wonderland. I've spent it finishing up my Van Gogh painting, watching netflix and enjoying a smooth cup of coffee. And now adding new creations to the House.

This Month we are working on getting ready for our First Annual Midsummer's Eve Garden Party!  Today we are getting the guest list together and invitations sorted out. It's a small guest list so we will be changing it up each year so that all can eventually make it. I'm excited to eventually share it all with you!

Sunday Morning with a dash of chocolate

So here is what has been going on in the House since I last posted!

These are the two projects that I was working on. I created this funky Coffin Bathtub Tray (I seen the original idea on instagram). Bones cut the shape, I woodburn the designs into the wood and then stained it black. On the back of the tray is a lip to prevent it from accidently slipping into the tub. It works beautifully. A bit dark. Next time I will go grey.

 

With the leftover triangle pieces I created some Altar additions for Ostara, Beltane and Litha. Woodburned the designs and than painted them ;) I just could not toss the triangles.

 

So my secret project was making my very own Clothing Spray for myself. My oils came in so I decided to try my hand at it. Frankincense, Myrrh, Patchouli and Cardamon. All of the scents turned out except for with Myrrh. The 100% pure essential oil is quite thick so it is hard to mix up with Witch Hazel base. I created a new section for any newbie Witches out there or Witches that just need a boost on where to start their magickal journey. You can find it over on the First Flight section First Flight Guide. I will be adding more info to this section that I think is super important for it. It is in it's new stages so bare with me.

There is a new recipe up! Sunday Morning's Tipsy Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Sauce. It is our Sunday morning breakfast tradition now! It is by far the best chocolate cake I have ever had! The kids love waking up to the scent of a chocolate cake baking. Magick flowing through the air in the kitchen awakening everyone with a smile. You can't get a better morning than that.

April's Full Moon is today. If you need a guide to help plan out your spellwork for tonight check out this page: Wind Moon My daughter is showing huge interest in all things witchery so we are going to work a small spell tonight. Something light. I'm not sure what yet.

Also, just a heads up that the darn "Follow by email" option is not working properly so I deleted it. Still searching for another idea on that. So I will keep you posted.

We are busy getting ready for Matta Fest this week and in honour of Beltane I got my very first dreads braided in!! I love them so much and the braids should last around four weeks or so. It's so exciting to try something new. Been wanting them for ages. They took FOUR hours to braid it, but so very worth it.

Mad Workings Continued

Hello again dear Witches!! Are you ready for the first of March's Full Moons?! What are your plans? What spells are brewing in your cauldrons?!

I have a link ready for the Grow Moon. I hope it helps with any of your magickal endeavors that you are called upon for tomorrow. The Spell that I am crafting is called "Breaking Illusions" and I will be casting it tonight as I will not be home for tomorrow night.

Breaking Illusions

Some happenings in the House. I've been working through the Second chapter and Lesson in my Warrior Goddess Training:

 I loved working with the first chapter so much, but I also found that I was already there so it's nice to push onwards to the next lesson. I highly recommend this book for every Woman out there. Embrace your inner strength and beauty!! Believe in yourself, Love yourself (most especially those parts of you that others think are ugly. Cuz they ain't!)

I finished my lovely necklace and bracelet that have so many titles. Wolf Woman, Warrior Goddess, Wild Woman I used them in my Breaking Illusions spell for empowerment, cleansing and they have become my third eye. I can't explain just how much I feel for them both.
I used antler tips that I drilled holes in, an old favourite necklace that I took apart and tektite stone.

 

I also finished my palmistry art piece that goes with my hand. I found this image online and then drew it out for myself. I'm not sure who the original artist is. It's going on a frame on my wall ;)

I've been adding to my Book! So exciting to be working in it. These are not finished pages yet, but I thought I'd share the progress. Remember if you want to make your own check out this link for a How To.

I've also been immersed in the book "Witches of New York", which I have mentioned before. Here is a pic as to why it is taking me so long to get through it! So much good and fun information!!

Mad Workings in the House

Hello fellow Witches! I've been working madly in the House and have a few updates to share. I was going to share my Bone Soup page and also my Bone Moon page, but I missed that opportunity.

Moving forward though.

I added some pics to my Lupercalia Chocolates page. I also added more depth to the recipe! They turned out way better this year than last year! They look more like truffles now and definitely picture worthy ;)

I have been working through and completed my Palmistry course for the School of Witchery. I've included the link in case any of you feel interested in checking out the School's site. With the Palmistry course I chose to create my own Hand and I have also decided to do a drawing of it for my wall space with more definitions of the symbols.

I've been working through the book Warrior Goddess Training and its Companion Workbook. I've completed the first Lesson. This book is apart of my Wolf Woman Transformation which I have mostly kept underwrap. I am unsure at this point of the transformation if I will share fully what I am doing or just share a little and keep most of it close. The first Lesson that I completed is called "Commit to You". I've shared a picture below ;)

I've also been working on my Wolf Woman necklace and bracelet set. I managed to gather most of the materials for them!

There is also a new addition to my site! I have added a little link in the top right corner of my site where you can sign up for getting a quick little email notification for when I update my site! That way it saves you from constantly coming back to see if I have added anything new...although you are more than welcome to do that too ;)

Last, but not least, I have created a Vero account. You can find me under Tokuni. Currently I can not share the link to my name as the option is not available yet. But I will try and figure out a way around that ;) I have been able to share it on my instagram though.

What is happening currently in the House:
~ I am gathering for a spell for March's Grow Moon!! This will be my first big spell since the closing of my coven. I finally feel like I am ready for the workings! I will be sharing the spell once I have completed it. This spell will include a few updates: a new Diety, candles, the spell, the moon etc

Awaken

Can you feel it? Gaia is being brought back to life from the Sun's Energy. He is staying up later and waking earlier. Just as it is the Sun and Gaia's time to start the early stages of awakening it is time for us to awaken. Imbolc has just passed and the Wolf Moon is Waning. Lupercalia is coming upon us.

Now more than ever I miss the sense of community that I had with my sister from The Black Hat Society. I am extremely leery of getting immersed into a coven again, so I am just pushing through and trying to fulfill the void I feel by myself.

This month I have finished a few online workings through the School of Witchery. Been keeping up to date with one of my favourite authors youtube channel, Nicole Canfield. I just recently discovered she has a website as well, so it's been fascinating catching up on reading her witchery articles. I've been slowly making my way through the book "The Witches of New York" by Ami McKay . I have found the read so full of useful information. My book is full of ribbons and underlined sections that I want to research and check up on, but it's been making me slow going and I'm getting behind on my book list. You can check me out on Goodreads too.

Sadly the Universe was not in line with me changing my site name. I had to go back to the Bone Witch as all my links on my pages disconnected and would no longer work. I guess Bone Witch just suits me more ;) I've completely dropped Moth now. With all it's painful links to past covens I have outgrown it.

I've been gathering materials for Transformation workings for myself and today I have realized that as my own witch name has changed, my blog name must change too. Growing. Evolving. Transforming.

My workings include honouring my Wolf, working with my Warrior Goddess, building upon my self acceptance with body love and healthy workings, giving power over to the coming Hag and shining in the light of Moon.

It's LIT

Oh yes, it's coming to be that time of year. The time every Witch waits and dreams for. The Witch's New Year, Samhain! Are you ready for a little Hocus Pocus? A little Practical Magick? I know I am.

I will be working steadily this coming month. Catching up on my Mabon posts that were lost down the rabbit hole. I know. Be ready. They are coming back up. I will also be working on my four children's costumes that I "Lovingly" get to make from scratch. I have many random recipes and crafts that I would like to share with you all, as well as some Samhain Hocus Pocus! I will also be very busy with my mother/daughter site The Northern Kitchen Witch, as it's that time of year as well. AND last but not least I am getting back into the swing of my artwork on my Imaginarium site. Oh yes, it's all coming back up from the rabbit hole. We're painting the roses... rainbow ;O

So follow along if you can. This winding journey will be full of lots of interesting tales and twists and turns.

I love to gather and collect things. The children and I went on our annual Harvest Walk and collected sticks, fallen leaves and pinecones. We went back to our little Faerie Cove and discovered all the water gone, which made for more room to explore!! The Fae are so generous here. We like to leave them honey as a gift.

Taking Care of Yourself (Finding your Light)

Taking Care of Yourself....what does that even mean? you see it often. Take care of yourself so you can take care of others. What does taking care of yourself even look like?

A few years ago, after many years of struggling I had eventually found the answer to this, but then I got some pretty life altering news and I've been struggling to find the meaning of this ever since. Trying to find my way out of this spiralling black hole of emotions.

Could it be so simple as just taking quiet time for yourself? even taking a weekend to yourself? No. I have found that the answer is not that simple. One moment of fresh air every so often is not enough. I need to implement something in my everyday life to make this work. And it has to be fluid. Taking care of yourself changes as you change, a constant evolving... thingamajigger... for lack of a better word.

I keep going back and forth on whether I want to post this or not. Every day is a battle of self love. I am feeling drained as fuck. It's so very personal. And ss I am trying to incorporate the following into my life, every moment of every day is a battle to do right by myself.

Replenishing your spirit. What calls to you? What makes you happy. Sometimes not even that is enough, but what gives you that zing, even if it's a short one it is still a start. Make a list. It doesn't matter if it sounds stupid or doesn't sound important enough. Write it down.

For me here are a few zings:

Creating (anything)
Canning
Moving my things around in my daily space
Baking/Cooking new things
Shopping
Reading
Re-organizing my space
Making lists

Next make a list that you want to bring into your life. It can be anything.

Ideas to implement daily:

daily affirmation
exercies
kundalini yoga
alone time
coffee
read a book
outside time
light a nice smelling candle
candle lit suppers
be mindful of what you are thinking
have comfy pj's and slippers
a daily itinerary of your goals for the day/week
morning walk outside

Next make an itinerary of your day (see that's even on my list) and try to bring in from both lists. Start small. Don't overwhelm yourself. Don't expect that your mind will be blown. Just know that a few zings will happen in your day and eventually those little zings will get bigger and you're going to find your light again.

Dark Moon, Solar Eclipse, Retrograde.... see you on the other side of all this madness!

It's a New Moon tonight. Leo this morning, Void this early afternoon and then out comes Virgo later this afternoon. I am feeling out of sorts within all this universal chaos. Highs and Lows coming at me in the most unexpected moments. I am trying to hold strong. Stay grounded. Pushing myself to craft, to continue on. Sometimes crashing, sometimes standing.

Werewolves, Oracles & The Moon

I don't know about you but I am not a huge fan of the full moon. Sure its all gorgeous in its full glory, shining down as powerful as the sun, lighting up our entire darkness with its burning light, BUT it brings out the werewolf in me, the darkness inside myself drawn to it's light. I feel exposed, raw, vulnerable, burned, over stimulated...in a bad way. This is not a fun time for me. I want to burrow into the ground and hide out until the new moon. Not do the work that the moon evokes from me, not follow its lighted path, not face any of it. This is how I feel right now. Bury it all, sweep it under the carpet and pretend it's not there. This is how I feel this Full Moon. The Corn Moon. A time when the energy is gathering, appreciating, harvesting...perhaps I should have done some sort of spellwork last night, but all I did was lay in my bed under the gaze of the moon....perhaps that is spellwork enough. Perhaps there was no need of fancy rituals and lighted candles. Just the moon and me. Her power and mine, Her refueling me, me refueling her.

My trinity spread today and I don't want to face it, but I am already halfway there. I get it, I see it, I'm currently working on it. I find it always amazes me how much people despise the person that creates a new path in life. They hate that you are doing the work because it makes them see that they also need to do the work. Carve the way. Stand up and have a voice. Just because this is how it was does not mean that this is how it has to be. Just because the ones surrounding you do not agree with you does not mean that you are wrong. Trust yourself. Trust your wolf. Trust your bones. Evolve.

Today the Moon is waxing and in the sign of Libra! This means it is the perfect time to find some balance in your life. I manage my life by my itinerary and lists!!

As you know for the past few weeks I have been working on a selection of new updates. They are all ready to be shared!! I've decided to share them one day at a time so as not to overwhelm everyone!

Some more new happenings in the House of the Bone Witch. Yesterday I was blessed with my new tattoo, a custom designed Wolf Tribal Mandala!! from Britt at the Bella Rose Tattoo Studio. The wolf is my spirit animal (Which I will go more into at a later date ;) )

I've started the beginnings of my Lughnasa Altar!! Well literally one thing, but even just this one addition and I'm getting super stoked for the fall. Here it is:

Some big news: I've retired my pentacle necklace. I will no longer be wearing the star for protection. Just too many connections to the covens. I have, however, invested in a new necklace that embraces my inner wild woman. I will share when she comes in ;)

I'm putting work into my new itinerary plans which will include: a Black Scrying Mirror (Still in the works, as I posted this in my last itinerary), Lughnasa Altar, Pentacle Earrings, Hand stitched Book of Shadows, A Baba Yaga Painting, A new beginnings spell, Canning List... and I'm still brainstorming ;)

Kitchen Magic

Making the mundane magikal is so important to keeping my sanity as I am a stay at home mom. Cleaning everyday can get to be so tiresome without a little zest to it. As I am sure it is with anybody cleaning everyday. I have designed a new Page for House Witchery. A place for making the mundane magikal.

Yesterday I worked out an itinerary for my week. I've included: Infusions, Candle Mold Making, my Jordan Clock, some new blog pages for House Witchery, Black Mirror Scrying and making and creating a new Book Of Shadows.

Up today on my Itinerary is: Candle Mold making, Printing off two more pics for the clock, forming back pieces for the pics, hopefully being able to attach the last bits to the clock (depends on if the pics are ready or not) and hunting down the perfect mirror!!

Today our Moon is in its Last Quarter phase and in Aries until 8:18 tonight where it shall then be in VOID.

Oh my, so much has happened since my last post. So much. I do have a few updates to my site, nowhere near what I had wanted with my last posting. The Akasha Spell fell through the cracks as my coven sister bailed on me. I could kinda feel her drifting the last few times we met, so it did not come as a complete surprise, but it was also... a surprise. I had hopes that perhaps she would contact me in the previous months as I left the ball in her court, but sadly she didn't. So it's taken me a bit, but I am moving forward. Not going to lie I've been running through alot of emotions about the whole thing. I am sad and upset, but when someone pulls away from me I am not going to force them to stay or try to convince them otherwise. I was very honest, very open and vulnerable and I guess it was just not enough or perhaps too much. I do take half the blame as I was unwilling to push and ask why. With sadness in my heart I move forward.

In the past few months I have been doing smaller witchy things. I have been making the mundane magikal in my kitchen and my backyard! It's been so much fun! I am learning how to cook with flowers!! And what magick it brings to the home! Please take the time to check out my new pages! Bring the magick into your own home!

This month Raven, my familiar, turns 13!! Thirteen! I've had him since he was a baby. I got him from the SPCA and they found him in the middle of traffic downtown in the city. He bit the person that picked him up and saved him haha! He used to be so feisty as a kitten, he would attack everyone but me. As he grew older he mellowed quite a bit. I used to take him everywhere in my giant purse. He would ride on the dash of my truck. He used to lay in the middle of my circle within my altar. He now spends his days in his retirement home at my Parents. I could not keep him in the house anymore as he poops and pees everywhere and I have a toddler rolling around on the floor. So my parents offered to take him and care for him in his old age. So grateful. They feed him and care for him better than I did!! Which is saying alot! When I went out to see him last weekend he didn't look so good. His fur is of course shedding at this time, but he has lost alot of weight. His once black fur is going a cinnamon brown. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

It's that time of year again!! If you haven't already you should be out gathering the last of the Alberta Roses!! They not only work great for spells and Divination tea, but they also work great in baking! Which I will be giving a go at in the next few days!

Bones and I went on a weekend getaway and I managed to find some more dragons beard, lichen and roses!

So that's the updates for now! I am currently working on my own itinerary for the coming weeks. Some things that will be included are: homemade floor wash, candle molds, infusions, crystallized pansies and new flower recipes, a magikal family clock, a new book of shadows and palmistry! April Madness

Lots going on this month! Working with Akasha, Fae, the Sun and Plant Energy! I will be adding my own Herbal Section, which entails all my research on the herbs that we use in our home for home remedies. I'm not sure what it will be called yet. So don't go looking for a herbal section just yet ;) Also I am NOT an herbalist, this is my own research and my own family's use and experience with these herbs. Do Your Own Research before using. I will stress that out on every single page. This month is also preparation for Beltane!!!! I will have loads of Beltane Projects in the following weeks. If you live in Northern Alberta make sure to get your witchy butts off to Matta Fest for a huge welcoming of Beltane. This month's full moon is the Wind Moon, coming up on Tuesday!! I've been Spring Cleaning here! This past week I cleaned out a bunch of stuff and re-organized. This week I will be adding in my magick with the mundane. Magick floor washes, spray cleaners, little protective spells. House Witchery at its finest ;) I will be sharing all this fun stuff throughout the week. Of course Spelling prep takes time so I will be posting in steps, just make sure to follow along at your own pace. This will be the page to find the new updates as I will add the links here as I go.

Many updates to House of the Bone Witch. Much has been happening in all this silence. Spring has arrived and with that I am dealing with Spring Cleaning, Ostara, Birthdays, a new Spell with my coven, many doctor appointments for my youngest and dealing with church in a public school (yuck).
My coven and I just wrapped up a month long spell with working with the Hag. It has been quite the spell with alot of intense energy. This past week our spell came to a close and the Hag gifted us. It was unexpected (which was silly) and hard truths were learned by us both that are just too personal to post at this time for myself.
