Beltane

Beltane is the Cross Quarter day between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Equinox. It is a time when the days grow longer and the Sun's strength is waxing, a time when flowers bud and green plants enjoy a growth spurt.

Beltane is a festival of fertility & growth, a celebration of love, light and sensuality.

Some Beliefs of Beltane are:
The Solar Earth deity, the Horned One has grown into a young man, ready to mate the Lunar Earth deity, the Triple Goddess in her youthful, sensual maiden aspect, ripe for fertility.

Another belief is The Oak King, symbolic of the earth god's lighter half reigns supreme, having triumphed over his twin rival and darker side, The Holly King, at the preceding Winter Solstice.

And yet another belief is that Mother Earth (Gaia) is slowly awakening from her sleep of winter by Sun's strengthening and Moon's cycle and with her awakening comes the budding of summer's flowers and plants. The thawing of Earth.

This is a time for the Fae. They are believed to make extra mischief as the veil between the worlds is thinning.
