Litha Crafts

It's June and Litha is soon! (insert witch cackles) Here is a place to gather and create. I will update as I go.

Faerie Lanterns
We are getting our backyard space ready for an all night fire (hopefully our Rain Spirits will rest and sleep for this). So being a witch that likes to save money I try to use what I have on hand.

You will need:
* Pint size jars
* Ribbons, trim, shells, flowers.... pretty much whatever kinda crafty stuff you have to decorate the jars with
* Copper wire
* Flameless tea light candles
* Bark, dirt or sand
* Metal Plant hangers ( I got mine at the dollarama)

Directions:
* Decorate your jars using your handy dandy glue gun.
* Take your copper wire and make a circlet around the top of your jar. Have two c curves on the ends of the wire to hook closed. Before you hook closed take another piece of wire and form a handle for the jar. On each end of this wire have a c curve that you will loop through your first wire on each side of the jar. Close both ends of this second wire. Now close the ends of the circlet wire around the top of your jar. This your handy dandy handle that you use to hang your jar with.
* If using sand or dirt fill bottom of jar with up to 1cm worth than add your candle
OR
* If using bark. Firstly add your candle than add some bark in the bottom to make it not look so empty.
* Place hanger in your backyard and hang jars!

Solstice Triangle Banners

You will need:
~ Dollarstore plastic tablecloths (3 different colors)
~ Jute rope, macrame braid
~ Scissors

Directions:
~ Figure out the size of triangle that you want (I chose 8 inches )
~ Cut out your triangles. Stack them in a pattern of your choice.
~ Cut little holes into the tops ends of your triangle.
~ Thread your rope through the holes in the triangle. Tie one end to where you want to hang your banner space out your triangles and tie your other end down. I screwed mine into the fence where I decided to hang my banner.
~ Also you may need to add some glue to the top centre of your triangles to the rope so the wind stops moving them around.

There is one more craft I just never had time to create. So once I find the right sticks I will add it in as it's the coolest little craft with the greatest fun when finished.

Peace and Love
