Scented Candles

So for the past few days I have been gathering ingredients for making my own scented candles. I wanted to do something to kick off our upcoming Imbolc and also something that my family could enjoy every day leading up to Imbolc.
So after a bit of reworking I decided on mixing these herbs & spices. I think my famjam will love it as they are all scents we enjoy.

~ Allspice
~ Cloves
~ Nutmeg
~ Ground dried orange rind
~ Cinnamon
~ The insides of a Chamomile tea bag
~ Pink Sugar
~ Dried Rose Petals
~ Thyme
~ Bay Leaf
~ Sandalwood Incense

I ground up the cloves and bay leaves, scraped the sandalwood incense, mixed my white sugar with red coloring and added everything together. If you use 1 tsp. of each ingredient you should have more than enough for four candles. Although you will have to keep adding more rose petals and crushed bay leaves.
I put part of the mix on wax paper and heated portions of my candle and rolled it into the mix. This will be your own trial and error part. I ended up figuring out that heating it by portions worked out best and also heating close to the flame until wax started to drip. Like really close to the flame.

After I had all the candles rolled in the mix I took one blue candle and one red candle and dripped wax over all four of my candles.

Once that was finished a tried covering one candle in honey to seal it, but dude that was way to sticky and led to a mess so I ended up using oil to coat it. I used an unscented oil as I didn't want to take away from my mix scent.

Your hands will smell amazing after doing this and an added bonus so will your candles and home!
