New Years Cleansing

New Years Day is a day for us to step into the new year fresh and with newness. We took all of our winter solstice decorations down as the sun shone on us. We did an entire cleanout of our home to feel fresh again. We also cleansed our home with sage and cedar smudge to get rid of any lingering negativity from the past year. The kids and I went through the house as I smudged they rang their jingle bells and swept the air. We sang together and strengthened our magic. It was great fun! It is similar to a house blessing that we did:

Sweep, Sweep Away
Let all your troubles and worries by swept away,
Sweep, Sweep Away
Bring in all our love and joy today

and then we just repeat it all around the house. Everyone also had a cleansing bath to start the new year off right. Epsom salts and coconut oil.

I also crafted our new happiness jar for 2015. This is a jar where we write down snippets of happy moments from the days and then we read them New Years eve. This is truly a blessing and I recommend everyone doing this. It is amazing how much we forget and it brings such joy to read them and be in the moment again.
