It is a cold time for us Northerners. Its snows heavily at this time of the year. Food is scarce for the animals and at one time it was like that for us humans. The wolves came howling at the door looking for easy food or just any food. I connect more with my inner wolf so I name this Moon in honor of her. She starves at this time of the year. Starves for the Sun and its light, its warmth. She is on the edge, prowling.
Mother Earth is awakening. Slowly, but surely the Sun is staying up longer to warm her body.
The Wolf Moon is a time of self reflection, contemplation and reassessment of what is of use to you. Hence all those New Year resolutions and such. Honour them, recommit to them. In the pressure of this cold month honour yourself by sticking to what is important to you. The test is standing by them in the hardship of attaining them.
