Mabon

The Autumn Equinox! Directly across from Ostara on the Wheel of the Year. This is the second of the Harvest Sabbats. Usually lands somewhere around the 20th - 23rd. This day marks the first day of Fall for us in the Northern Hemisphere.

Leaves fall, the day grows cold,
The Goddess pulls her mantle
of Earth around Her.
As you, O Great Sun God
sail towards the West to the
Land of Eternal Enchantment.
Wrapped in the Coolness
of the Night
Fruits ripen, Seeds drip
The Hours of Day and Night
are Balanced

Mabon is a time for the Feast of the Ingathering (Thanksgiving). A ritual of being grateful and thankful for the fruits that we bear from Mother Earth to eat and store for the coming winter months. A time to share and feast with family whom we love and trust.

Some ways to represent Mabon on your Altar or in your home is to simply go gathering. You can find pinecones, leaves, wheat and sticks out and about. Building a Gratitude Tree for you home is another wonderful way to symbolize Mabon. Foods like grapes, wine and gourds around your home. A statue to represent the Mother of the Triple Goddess on your Altar.

That's it for now ;)
