The Morrigan
For March I chose to work with the Celtic Goddess Morrigan. I have worked with her before and seem to have an affinity for her. The Morrigan is a 'shape shifter' and is often symbolised by the raven. She is said to have learned her magic from Merlin. Morrigan rules the wheel of life, death and rebirth. She is a ruthless warrior and sorceress and is fearless in the face of death. She has been worshipped as a Goddess of War and many warriors would ask for her blessings before heading out to battle. The Morrigan teaches women to accept and embrace their darker side, so it can be brought into the light and transformed. In ancient times Morrigan was also seen as the Goddess of fate, deciding who lived and died.
