An online Book of Shadows. Ever wonder what happens in the house of a witch?
Corn Moon (August)
Many witches call this moon the Barley moon as barley is what Persephone carries as a symbol of the harvest. This moon marks the beginning of the Corn harvest and of drying herbs. Fishing tribes were known to have called it the Sturgeon Moon as this month there is a ready supply of the fish. I also liked that it was also called The Moon When Cherries Turn Black as I was just at my Mother's and her cherries were indeed black and we were talking about how now is the time to harvest them.
The power flow for this Full Moon is gathering, appreciating, energy into harvesting.
