Many updates to House of the Bone Witch. Much has been happening in all this silence. Spring has arrived and with that I am dealing with Spring Cleaning, Ostara, Birthdays, a new Spell with my coven, many doctor appointments for my youngest and dealing with church in a public school (yuck).
My coven and I just wrapped up a month long spell with working with the Hag. It has been quite the spell with alot of intense energy. This past week our spell came to a close and the Hag gifted us. It was unexpected (which was silly) and hard truths were learned by us both that are just too personal to post at this time for myself.

New updates to my site. Its been four months too long. I almost stopped altogether, but then I remembered in my darkest hour a little blog that saved me. So here I am. Mayhap it might save someone out there too.

Settling in for the Long Nights

Winter is coming I can feel it in the air. My parents who live further North have already had a taste of snow. I am excited for the seasons to change, for summer to sleep and the cycle to continue.
Our home is starting to fill with the decor of Samhain. We will be visiting the graves of our ancestors this month. We do this every year. We play them songs and tell stories of them. We honour their memory with keeping them alive in our hearts. I love this time of year. This week I look forward to creating my Samhain Altar space and speaking to the children of not only our past ancestors but also of the world's veil being at it's thinnest and how the tradition of Halloween came to be and our own traditions of Samhain.

The First Harvest

The last weekend of July and the first of the Harvest Seasons. Lughnasa!! I already have a page up from last year about Lugh if you want to check it out just click on the link.

This year we went up further north to where my folks have a little slice of paradise. We took advantage of the long weekend and filled it with harvesting. Even today we will be off again later this afternoon.

I am going to be freezing the beet greens for the winter to add with pasta dishes. The greens of the onions I will be drying to restock my jars from last year.

The beans I will chopped up and partially cook to freeze for winter meals. I used to preserve them by canning, but I wanted to try something new this time.

I am finding it very hard to get into the harvest season this year. Which makes me so sad as it is my favourite time of year. With our home being for sale we are trying to keep our house half empty for a quicker sell. This leaves no room for harvest storage. We have removed most of our personality from our home as well which has left me feeling in between and frustrated. It's been quite the test.

Monday Rambles and Updates

Morning!
There are a few updates to my blog. A new Wheel of the Year page and I re-organised the pages on my blog, adding a Moon section and Extra Lore section. Trying to make it easier for anyone just looking for information to guide them. Also a new page under Moons for the month of July, Thunder Moon. So make sure to check those out.

The Black Hat Society coven has come up with a beautiful sigil. It was such a beautiful night of collaboration and throwing creations around in the air for it! Here is a rough draft of it:

I recently got a new oracle deck from my wonderful coven sister Aurora. It was a deck she could not seem to connect with, but I can not get enough of! Every time I pull a card it speaks to me so much!! Her beautiful gift came at the perfect time. My older deck has not seemed to resonant with me anymore...this could be because my hubby and bestfriend Bones has overtaken them on me! They speak to him quite clearly. Here is a pic I captured of my deck from Earthly Souls & Spirits:

My family and I have been working the moon phases for the selling of our home. As we set our intention to sell we listed with a realty company on the New Moon!! This is a huge step for us. We are a family of six. This has been our first home and the only home our children have known. We have been here 10 years! But it is time to move out into nature and the wilderness. It has taken us two years to make this day happen. As we work with the moon on this I will keep you updated on our journey.

And last but not least! Falkor the Luck Dragon came for a visit during a storm the other day!

Rainy Days

It's a Saturday and it's been raining for what seems like forever. I am loving it. I am very grateful that I got some gathering done the week before, as well as my yardwork finished before the rain set in.

I was able to gather Alberta Roses, Honeysuckle, Dandelions and Bluebells. Below is some information on them from my Book Of Shadows. Please, please PLEASE remember that Bluebells are TOXIC and are NOT to be used with my scented candles craft or to be ingested!

Some new updates to the blog! There are two new Spell additions, check out the links for more info: Witches Ladder and Honouring the Rain Spirits. Also there is a new Litha's Craft page that I have started. How to make Faerie Lanterns for your backyard is in there and I will update it as I go with more crafts!

Friday Musings

Well hey there anyone out there reading this! It has been so hard to be in contact with my followers since leaving facebook in December. But life has been so good for leaving that social network!! I know, I don't post near enough that I should, but let's be honest... some days are just better than others.
So new to my world, I joined Instagram! I am loving it! I don't have to listen to political views and bullshit opinions! ha ha. No seriously, I am loving just posting pics. I have an open account as I do not post any pics of my family or whatnot so feel free to find me and add me.

The snow has melted and my backyard altar is up! Feels sooo good to have some personal space under the open sky. Here are a few pics!

So some new updates to the old blog. I have May's Moon page up and June's Moon page up as well. I decided to wait until next year for Beltaine and hopefully have more pics up. There are a few new additions to the Spelling Section. These new spells Dark Moon Workings, Hekate's Balance, Milk Moon Spell and Full Moon Wish Spell are collaborated works with my sisters of the Black Hat Society. Yes I co-started a coven for us Witches of the North! Such exciting news! Also there will be a new page in the Crafting section for my witch's ladder. I will update with a link once I am finished my write up on it! So laters for now!
